Wings - Chapter 1

Celestia was up late one night signing some documents, when suddenly, she sneezed. When she did, a little bit of her magic left her horn and became airborne, blowing through an open window. The magic traveled all the way to Ponyville, where it went through an open window and was soaked up by the creature sleeping in that room.
“Bless you, Princess” said one of the Royal Guards.

That morning, Spike woke up groggy. He got up, blanket still draped over him, and shivered. He realized that the window was open, and shut it.
"Spike! Breakfast is ready!" Twilight's voice echoed from the kitchen.
"Just a minute!" He called back, stepping in front of a nearby mirror. He tied the blanket around his neck as though it were a cape, then flexed his arms and said to himself, "Looking good, Spike!"
At that moment, he saw something shift under the cape. He turned his head to look at it, and in the next moment, two dragon wings emerged from under it.
"What the - I have wings!? Awesome!"
Spike inspected his new limbs. The joints were purple, with green membrane stretched between them. When completely extended, the wingspan was about twice his height. He tried flapping them, and to his surprise, he actually took off. But he started to lose control, so he quickly landed. He chuckled to himself.
"Spike, your food's getting cold! I know you like posing in the mirror, but you gotta stop and eat breakfast at some point!"
"Coming!" Spike folded his wings, moved the blanket back over them, and headed down to the dining room.
